Cam's new built motor

Re: Cam's new built motor

Postby 06rexwagon » Sun Jun 27, 2010 9:00 pm

Got it up and running today. I backed the timing down to what I would run on pump gas and left it at wastegate (22psi) pressure. The car spools the same as the Dom4 did and pulls great. I know that at higher boost it will really shine. The turbo sounds really crazy at part throttle when it's spooling. This week I'll try to get it road tuned at higher boost and possibly get some #'s for this smaller turbo. Then on to the larger one....

You're going to love that turbo setup. Rolling into boost sounds awesome doesn't it :D

Btw, what AR turbine housing did you get on the 83/75. I have the 0.91AR and I want to try the 1.0.

Look who's here!
Yea boost sounds really cool. I have the .91 right now but I have a 1.00 too that I'll try after I dyno with this one.

I've always been lurking but failed to make an account every time hahaha

Sweet, now I know someone who can do a back to back comparison. Wondering if it's worth it for me to swap it out. Don't want to lose anymore low end spool/power.

Can't wait to see the results! It will be an interesting comparison. Our motors are almost the same apart from my oversized valves and different cams (Kelford 276/272 AVCS).

But... you have E85! :(

Ok, got it dialed in on the dyno:
22psi:
Image

30psi vs 31psi on my old setup. Didn't lose any bottom end power.
Image

Couple more of just the 83-75 with .91 a/r.

I have a 1.00 a/r hotside to swap on that should make 30-40 more hp up top. Then I'll move on to the 88-75 which is rated for 70hp over this turbo.

First Subaru to make 600 on this dyno.

I've only gotten on it a couple of times and it's really hot out, but it's scary even at 25psi. I did a 30psi pull once. Needed some :paper:

Ha Ha Ha! I can only imagine! I'm sure it would be even more ridiculous on a cool night or something. Are you running the Blitz on it? You like it?
